The WATCH D.O.G.S program has many benefits to the school, providing an extra layer of security and support, but how did you benefit from the experience? What would you tell the next guy coming to school about your day at Branson Elementary School?

What a pleasure this was. I feel like I connected with some kids today that really needed someone to just take a minute and give them a hug. There needs to be a bootcamp for this to get me physically ready for this,I am worn out. This has helped me judge what is important and what is just important to society. I WILL be spending more time with my kids.
I was overwhelmed by the outpouring of courtesy, respect and most importantly HUGS! I was moved by the opportunity to work with students with learning or behavioral problems. It made me realized the importance of being present in my childs life. The faculty and staff showed their appreciation with a never ending supply of comments and praise. For this I am very grateful. I am happy for the opportunity to serve as a Watch D.O.G. and am thankful for a school system that recognizes the importance of this program, as well as the wellbeing of my children.
I was very pleased and honored to be here today. I had a great day and felt really welcomed and accepted by the staff and the kids. More importantly, I felt as though I was able to make an impression on th ekids and see how a daily presence like this can make a huge difference in the lives of some of these kids. I look forward to helping out again.

I feel that this program should had been installed into schools across the world a long time ago. This program not only shows the students that us dads are here for them, but it allows us ,as dads, to see our kids days at school. I feel blessed to have my kids in this school. To anyone and everyone who walks these halls after I have, just remember that your kids and my kids are counting on YOU.
I just got tears in my eyes as I read through these reflections. I am so thankful that my sons have the privilage of going to a school that cares about them so much. Thanks Mr. Dawson and all these committed dads and men for taking such care of our children. What a huge blessing!
I REALLY EJOYED SPENDING THE DAY WITH THE STUDENTS AS WELL AS THE TEACHERS. A PROGRAM LIKE THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN STARTED LONG AGO. I WILL DEFINATLY BE BACK.
This was a great day for me and of course there will be many more to come. I cant wait till the next time I have time to spend with the kids. Hopefully we get to move on to other classrooms and schedules. This was GREAT cant wait till next time in 2 weeks.

I had heard great things about the WATCH D.O.G.S. program at other schools and I was excited to hear that it had come to Branson. Even though I don’t have a child in the 3-4 building, I wanted to experience the program so that hopefully when it is added to other buildings next year, I can do it with my son. I know it is something that he and I both would look forward to doing together. Kudos to Mr. Dawson and the rest of the staff for implementing this great program and a special thank you to all of the Dads who commit the time to the students. If you have not signed up to be a WATCH D.O.G.S., what are you waiting for?

This was a great day! I dont know how a father could not walk away from this feeling like a proud man/father i truely feel bad for any father that missed this chance bond with such great kids as well as their own. Thank you WATCHDOGS for making me a hero in my little girs eyes
It feels great to be a help to the school, see what the kids are doing, and see the enjoyment it brought to my daughter. The teachers and staff were wonderful, helpful and had plenty for a dad to do. I look forward to coming back for a full day.
It was a delight to spend a day with the students, especially my daughter, and expierence a day in her life…a rare and valuable opportunity for any father.
Even though I do not have a child this age now(5th grade and 10th grade now), I find that helping out as a Watch Dog help us realize better the world in which our children live. We are made more in contact with our own children by learning more about thier day to day life. We can better understand them and help them with the insight we gain. It is wonderful privelege to stay connected.
Wow, did I have fun! I had to rearange my work schedule to be here, but it ment the world to my daughter. From the moment they anounced I was the Watch Dog of the day I knew I was giong to make a difference.
I had kids giving me high fives in the hallway, and even had two kids that needed a dad to watch out for a bully or was having a bad day and I happen to see him crying so I could get him someone to talk to. All in all it was great and I ant wait to do it again!
I think WATCH DOGS is a great program to help our school be great. Even though our school is already awesome! It’s always great to have people come in and care for Branson elementary. It’s also always good to have dads participate in something so cool like WATCH DOGS. It’s helpful that dads take time to come and help patrol our school. My dad will hopefully be able to make it at the end of the year. Im really looking forward to seeing him help around the school.I am SO VERY EXITED! I think having WATCH DOGS in the school is a great idea. I love the idea!!! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH WATCH DOGS AND MR. DAWSON! Im really looking forward to seeing you tommorrow!

Thanks WATCH DOGS for being here. I have had the opportunity to have 3 WATCH DOGS in my classroom so far and my students love it. The DOGS have read to students, helped with homework, and even joined us for a dance break. My students are always asking me when the next one will be here! Thank you and keep it up!!!
I had a great time today and I think this is an outstanding program. I recommend this to every dad out there to come to school and hang out with the kids. I wish this would have come along sooner and will be more than happy to do it again. Our children are very important and this program really gets it right.

What an awesome day! I really enjoyed the trip back to 3rd grade. Thank you to the school and teachers for having us dads into your school day.
I had a great time and the most importent part was seeing my sons reaction and how greatfull he was that I was spending time at his school. As far as a suggestion for me I could have shared how the school and the Branson area was 50 years ago. I was very pleased with the welcome from every one teachers and students, the program is a great program and I am so happy to be a part of the program.
Being a school teacher at the Junior High and being a part of the school district for 14 years I had an idea of what to expect as far as day to day procedures. However, what I didn’t expect was how excited the children were for another male adult to be in the building helping with different activities. Very rewarding experience for me. I will be back as soon as I can. Thank you for all that is done for kids here at this building.

This was my second opportunity to act as a “Watchdog” and it re-affirms my confidence in the staff and faculty at our school. In the back of my mind, I wondered that maybe I caught everyone on a good day. But I have come to learn that this is the mode of operation at Branson Elementary. Hats off to the faculty and staff for making me feel welcome and letting me be a part of my child’s educational experience.

I was glad to be a part of such a wonderful program. It feels good to be doing something to help make our children more secure. The kids were a lot of fun and paid me a great deal of respect. I know my son loved seeing me there with my shirt on walking the halls. It’s a great example for him to see. I look forward to doing it again sometime.

I learned how much the staff interacts with the students to provide such a comfortable learning environment for the students to develop. We moved back to Branson because of the terrific school system and still have not been disappointed in any aspect of the school or its programs to help the children mature. I found the experience very rewarding and appreciated the opportunity to be involved in program. Thank you.
Once again it was a great day this was my second day as a watch dog and hopefully not my last. The children and staff are all so welcoming cant wait for anther great day as soon as possible. Thank You.
The Watch Dog program is a great idea and needed at all schools. To give dads a chance to spend time in their kids daily school environment is very eye opening. The kids were really receptive and enthusiastic about have the “dogs” in and around the school. I had the opportunity to play some football (with a soccer ball) out on the play ground at recess and the kids loved it. The day really flew by and I will definetly do it again soon. Teachers - keep up the great work! Happy Thanksgiving!
WOW! What a great day! I was blown away by the courtesy and great character of the staff and students. I was amazed to see the great positive learning environment that is provided for the students. I observed a high level of respect the teachers had for the students and for each other. I truly am honored to have my child Mikaela under the leadership and mentoring that is provided by you, Mr. Dawson, your staff, and the teachers. Thank you for your selfless service and the high level of character you model for my daughter. I plan on being a part of this program again and again.
TODAY………….Was a GREAT DAY! The Students and Staff made this “DOG” feel right a home. I enjoyed assisting with math work in the hall, listening to my new buddy Josh read me a book about the X that got lost from the ABC’s and even the hallway/door checks. The investment, which was really not much of an investment, will pay dividends not just to our students and school system…………….but also to me as a parent! I’LL BE BACK…………..you can bet on that!!!

I really enjoyed enteracting with all the kids and walking around meeting the faculty. I think the program is really important not only for the safety of the kids, but helping the kids see adults besides the teacher around the school. I hope to schedule some more time top volunteer soon.

another great day with the kids, I plan on scheduling more time soon. this is only my second day and i have losened up around all the kids al ready and they are doing the same with me. I really enjoy spending time with my daughter here in her environment at school it helps out alot knowing what her day consist of. Hope to see everyone soon.

I hope the students and faculty had as much fun as i did. I’m jealous of the teachers, who get to do this EVERYDAY. I will tell everyone who has children at this facility to sign up. It was a blast. Watch DOGS is an excellent opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Kids. The school and kids are very excited about having us here. It will be an awesome experience.
Let me say thanks to all the effort to make this Watch Dog program so effective…more than the dads, like me, who come for a day…It’s the teachers and administrators who set it up so well and support the dads that make it really really work. My favorite was helping a child read who is struggling or two kids catching up in math or at lunch laughing at a corny joke from a third grade girl. Thank you for the smile I got inside for seeing how incredible the teachers, leaders and counselors really are at this school.

What a gift to spend the day with Branson School & their students! My daughter looked @ me as if I was 10′ tall. Thank you to all the teachers/staff for making me feel apart of the system. Yes, their were times in the day I would drift my mind over to -what’s happening @ work- but, quickly snapped back when I would see the kids & remember why I’m here! Amazing what some of the students had to say…Hope the program continues and I’d very much like to be a part of it.

Hey Mr.Dawson I think W.A.T.C.H Dogs is a great thing to make our school a better place to learn and be safe.Not like it’s already safe enough because it is a fun safe place to play.I love this program and I hope my dad or brother could be a watch dog sometime next year.And watch dogs should have been stared a long time ago to make this a better place.And to let you know I am a straight A student sometimes I get A- but who doesn’t.I am a good kid and I have never been in your office for anything bad.I do not think it’s right to fight at school because school is supposed to be a safe place to learn and have fun and get smarter and get up into college and I love having you as princapal and I don’t want to have another pricapal but soon i will have to thats all for know have a good day bye!!!!
I had a great time today at the school. Interacting with teachers, staff, and students was beyond enjoyable and fun. I do think the WATCH DOGS program is a great was to introduce father figures to the school as well as allowing them to play a security role. I was impressed with the organization of everything and commend you and your staff for executing it with excellence.

This program is very beneficial for all dads to get a real feel for what a school day consists of for your child. The students were all very responsive to me and listened when I spoke to them. It will give a better appreciation for the wonderful and challenging task that all teachers and school adminstrators undertake each and everyday.
I enjoyed my second day more than the first. Was proud that students remembered me from last time and appreciated the kind words from them and my son. Please see that this program remains in the school.

What a FANTASTIC day hanging out with kids! They were really excited to have a WATCHDOG in their school. The staff had everything lined out perfectly so there was never a dull moment. My only suggestion would be to provide the WATCHDOGS with some organized games for recess as this seemed to be the time when the kids wanted to connect the most. I am thankful we live in a school district willing to try new things. Way to go Mr. Dawson!
what a great experience i found it to be very rewarding
had a great time with the kids today. would definely do it again. suggest all the fathers get in line and give it a shot. alot of the kids were so excited to see another adult to talk to and spend some time or ask questions too. had a day i will never forget.
I had a good time with the children. I can tell that many of the children really got envolved with me and the other watchdog father.
This is a real benifit for the aduals as weel as the parents.

This was a truely enjoyable experience. I wish there was a program like this when I was growing up. I grew up with out a father, so for me to give back to a child that may have needed a hug or told that they were doing well, was all worth it today. The best thing of all was to see the smile my son had on his face when he saw that his dad spent a whole day at his school with him. Every one of the staff were very friendly and helpful as well. I would highly recommend every father be involved in the watch dog program.

Today was my second time visiting the school as a Watchdog.
Again, it was a positive experience. It is wonderful to be able to help when needed. The kids that really need help seem to make themselves apparent. They all still seem to enjoy our presence now that we are several months into the program. I look forward to my next visit next month.

The WATCHDOG program helps you realize how important your role as a dad is. This experience helps open your eyes to the fact that not only can you make a difference in the life of your child, you can also help make a difference in the lives of other children in our community!
What a great program!! It has been a long time since I have seen so many smiles.I was kind of nervouse at the start of the day but it was a wondeful expierience.My son was excited to see me in his school.All of his friends wanted to see me.There is not enough that I can say about the watch dog program. I will be back as soon as possible.

I have really enjoyed this again. This is my second tour of enjoyment, and i would and will do it again. I think all schools should participate in this wonderful program. Once again thank you.
As men we have a great opportunity to help our community by participating in Watch Dogs. This program will give you a great perspective of the challenges that teachers face. Hopefully it will also give you a desire to help students who have additional needs. I would highly recommend that each dad volunteer to do this.
This program will also help you understand what a day is really like for your child. Get involved and thanks to all the dads who have volunteered this year.
